The major problem with them is that they sound exactly like a typical indie band of that era did - not to mention the vocals can get slightly annoying after a while.

I used to go see this band when they were still a local act, in the years leading up to this album. It’s a shame about the production on this album, it really sucked all the energy that you would see live out of the music. Especially on “Circus”. It was their signature tune at shows; the one people clamored for. Here it falls flat, thanks to the over-production, but it’s worth seeking out the demo version that was circulating in their early days. That version is electric.
