For fans of melancholy 70's troubadours, it doesn't get much better than this. There's a deep, authentic ache in Wiffen's voice. And it's well-suited to these mostly self-penned tunes. All of which are strong, but for me the clear highlight is "White Lines", a heart-wrenching ode to shattered dreams (the title a reference to highway lanes, not nose candy). "You know that could have been me you're listening to on the radio / I could have been warm inside of some place / Instead of standing here in the snow."
