An acidic presence in modern culture. Hateful, soulless, lowest common denominator music. Everything he's done since the mid-2010s onwards has become so utterly reductive that it sucks the life out of you. Songwriting that outright refuses to dare or try anything other than the most sickly, predictable, cushy bollocks.
It's astonishing that someone with such an enormous audience chooses to do absolutely nothing of note with it, despite clearly being talented at songwriting. One of the few superstar artists ever who genuinely stands for nothing.
I think Ed is OK!

Too far into commercialism
I hate Ed Sheeran for the same reason I hate Disney live-action remakes: they're mediocre and get filthy rich for "reviving" something (e.g. acoustic guitar music) that's been done infinitely better before and is still accessible to anyone who has access to these attempts. Literally why name your album 5

Seriously don't know how he's so popular. My favorite (or most tolerable) track is River by Eminem, and that's as a feature. That's a little sad

Very commercial/mainstream/sellout... You'd think artists would make a more concise album to have 10-12 solid songs instead of 20+ mediocre tracks. Not sure what the craze is over long albums these days. Anything over 55-60 min feels like it drags on to me... Unless you're a talented band/artist, which most are not.
