Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 58.6/100, a mean average of 57.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 57.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 22.6.

A sizeable step up in quality from his first two album releases, this one, IMO, put Sheeran firmly on the musical map.

The names of the albums pretty much say enough about his music. It’s basically the same album as last (except the songs that weren’t written by him). And “Sing” is a shameless rip-off “Moves Like Jagger”... there are no excuses for this album.

You know that an artist starts to take him/herself too seriously when the album is filled with tracks whose title is one word... don’t know why, but somehow this rule works.

Better than I expected, but still so poor... 5/10.

The ballads on this album get really mushy, especially on the banal "Photograph" ("When it gets hard/You know it can get hard sometimes/[Love] is the only thing that makes us feel alive") and the cliche-riddled "Thinking Out Loud" (Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars), but when Ed wishes to brag of his drunkenness and(nonexistent)rugged street-smart personality I find the resultant songs even more annoying. This song contains one good one: "I'm a Mess", the first track in which Ed brags of his drunkenness and (nonexistent) rugged street-smart personality, and unfortunately not the last.
