Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 5% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 78.5/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.1/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 19.4.

So damn handsome
The greatest west-coast rapper from the golden age of hip hop. His discography from his lifetime is up there with some of the greats. Seriously underrated on this site, especially considering the other ratings on this page. The man brought soul into hip-hop with his conscious message and deep lyrics. He kind of did for hip hop what Dylan did for rock and roll. He could do pop rap, funk rap, conscious, hardcore, gangsta, all with a loose and shape-shifting flow. Dig into an album, pay attention to the lyrics, ride the grooves, it's worth it in the long run.
The most influential rapper of all time
West Coast for the win. I will contend that his posthumous music contains from great tracks - in fact my 2 favourite songs of his are Changes and Ghetto Gospel. Other than that All Eyez On Me is where it's at. Biggie Smalls may have been slight stronger in his flow, but 2pac's lyrical and thematic depth place him firmly on top.

At his best (Me Against the World & All Eyez On Me) he was one of great poets of his generation. He will always have a flow like no other. I agree with a previous comment here though, don't bother with his postmortem stuff. Just stick with the classics that made him so great.

i think he was crazy, he had two personalities.if he could control himself he would of been one of the best. 2pacalypse now is my favourite album from him.

Sometimes I think he's brilliant, sometimes I think he's awful. So inconsistent. He's on my chart because when he's on, he's the best there is. Thoughtful, creative, and profound. When he's off? Cliche, misogynistic, and stupidly violent. Don't bother with any of his postmortem albums - simply his estate and the record company squeezing every last dime out of his legacy. Don't get me started on the Coachella hologram...
