I discovered Rodriguez in the early 70's - for some reason his music & voice & lyrics resonated in Australia, much like it did in South Africa - but not in his native USA. Despite only 2 studio albums: 1970 (Cold Fact) and 1971 (Coming From Reality) - I was a captivated life-long fan. I may be a bit sentimental but the lyrics in Silver Words "...that anyone as nice as you, would chance with me..." still hits my heartstrings deep. The rediscovery of Rodriguez in "Searching For Sugarman" was truly amazing and I fulfilled a life long dream in being able to see/hear/feel Rodriguez in concert at the Barclay Theatre, Brooklyn in Oct, 2013.
Never released a bad album, has incredible political messages that still resonate today, and a phenomenal songwriter.

I saw the film 'searching for the sugarman' and I would highly recommend the film and really got me into his music.. Really like Rodriguez as an artist, very diverse music and such an amazing story of his rise in South Africa
