Diana Ross has been making records since 1960. Firstly as lead singer of the Primettes & then The Supremes and in 1970 as a solo artist. She has sung lead on 18 U.S. No.1's. A remarkable achievement no matter what you think of her. She has an unmistakeable voice which you can easily pick out when she sings background vocals on early Motown hits for other artists. During the period 1970-87 she made 17 solo albums an album with Mr. Gaye and featured on 3 soundtrack albums. Her best albums in this period are the "Chic " album (1980),her debut solo album (1970), Touch Me In The Morning(1973) the Diana Ross album from 1976 ,Baby It's Me(1977), The Boss(1979) and her final R.C.A. album from 1987 Red Hot Rhythm and Blues. Since 1987 she has only released 6 proper albums the best of which is Take Me Higher(1995). She is an all round entertainer an Icon and Motown Legend.
