Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Good band that incorporated grunge sounds and more classic 70s rock songs. They had a unique song writing structure that doesn't follow verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure. People dog them for following Seattle sound, but forget that Candlebox is actually from Seattle. If they'd happened to have gotten their debut album out a year earlier they'd be considered with the other grunge leaders.
