As Nirvana saved Rock and Roll for most of us in 1991, the Blasters did the same for me back in the early 80's. From the same area as the hair metal bands (LA) the Blasters play roots rock, white blues and jump jive and they do it better than any band except possibly Los Lobos. And Phil Alvin's voice...these guys should have been the next big thing. Three original albums with Dave and Phil, one currently post Dave. All worth owning. Good luck finding the original The Blasters. But it's worth the hunt. They should have been the next big thing. They already were...to me.
