Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 82.9/100, a mean average of 81.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 14.9.

One of the better indie/alternative bands for sure. I love the production on their debut in particular - glossy and almost ethereal at times.

A teenager from the north when the roses hit big = best band ever. One of the biggest what ifs in music for me is what would a second album around 91 would have sounded like if they'd not f'd up? Stuff the likes of fools gold, something's burning, what the world is waiting for, one love, begging you and ten story love song (last 2 written a while before second coming).
Yes, yes, they only really had one album. But when it's as good as it is, you have to rate its creators highly.
A great and influential band who released one of the most significant albums of it's time period. Shame that they couldn't keep and further the potential they had in the debut.
Their album is good (?)
For me Roses are one of the best bands ever. And yes, maybe little overrated but they are important figures in the history of rock.
Truly one album doesn't make a band, and their second effort is not near as interesting as the first. Their debut album and the couple singles around it are truly gold, they succesfully combine elements from pop, psychodelic and rave and make a 60s rock's update that made them maybe the best band of the world (for a little while, at least).
A little over rated and always wonder why they waited 5 years to release another album no one cared about ....
A little over rated and always wonder why ? Only one album
