Extremely underrated. The greatest pop group of the 1980s

I loved them for being the band doing what they were not supposed to do, for believing in the Pop song in the decade of the Pop song and for lyrics that were better when one overheard most of their ultra clever and delicately fine irony in them. I loved them for the details in the music, a music that stood in my way for at least four albums and that always in a new way. I guess Paddy McAloon knows all too well about his talents, but he needs a band to make them shine, to spend time on his ideas and turn them into the unique music, they can become.
My favourite band of all-time, before discovering Steely Dan at least. At the time they made the 'Eighties bearable!
