Top 100 Music Albums of 2015

At this point I like every single album on here. All the bad stuff has been bumped off.
Number 2 album of the year isn't able to be put on the site because time/tracks but "Four Songs For Losing You" by flatsound should be there. Just FYI.
Important things I still have to listen to:
Have You in My Wilderness
Complicated Game
Compton
Simple Songs
High
Get To Heaven
Nymphs II
Hands. Cannot. Erase.
Fading Frontier

Ought's album last year was interesting to me, but felt like they were still sort of finding their sound, and I wasn't nearly as wowed as other people were. This, on the other hand, is incredible. The Talking Heads have influenced a lot of people, and the influences generally are either subtle or so rip-off-y it just doesn't work. This stands up to some of the best Talking Heads albums. A really great, dark, post-punk album that still does original and creative stuff, but is definitely very reminiscent of Talking Heads.

I saw the title of the artist and album and went in sort of groaning, those are some bad puns, but the album cover was interesting enough so I decided to give it a shot. A really good choice, best house I've heard maybe ever. It's not my genre, so that's part of it, but this is a really weird and experimental take on it that makes for an equally fun and uncomfortable listen. Well done!
Revisit: You know, this is growing on me more than I thought it would. Just a silly listen, but something that's been nice for cheering up and has been weirdly pleasant to listen to with ear infections. I've had to dial down on post-hardcore with these ears but this kind of almost echoes in a pleasant way.
Revisit the second: Still a really fun album that hasn't gotten old yet. [First added to this chart: 02/10/2015]

So look, folk rock can still interest me. No at all traditional folk, more interesting for fans of Editors and/or Gotye than, say, John Denver, but that's part of what makes it great, it really puts an interesting spin on it.

I really liked this. This being this low is not an insult, it's a really good album, it's just missing something special. Like it's really good, it just doesn't have a real wow factor. It could've done with either a few more tracks or some more depth to the tracks that were there or SOMETHING more.
Revisit: You know, I find myself humming some of these tunes, which isn't that common for a darker album like this. Still not even my favorite release of this genre this year, but you know, it really has been a good year so far. [First added to this chart: 01/22/2015]

Basically a less fun version of Neu Balance without being as serious or dark as Ghost Culture. Pretty good, just rather listen to other releases.

Cute very 90s sounding shoegaze/dream pop. Well executed but not too exciting or different overall.

I'm trying something different. I checked to see who had Moonbuilding in their chart, and decided whoever had it I was going to give a rating of 100. So there ya go.

Thoughts on the new oberhofer album (chronovision), Ben? Now that's some smooth rec for who hasn't listened yet, hehe.

Respect for the work you put in with the notes. It helps a lot for getting recs. of which I already have obtained a few. Got Fiasco on now. Cheers

Something tells me you'd really like N.O.M.A.D's new album (((( Yawning )))), which is a lo-fi, jazzy, experimental take on contemporary R'n'B, but with a defiantly hip-hop edge. It's a light, breezy listen, but is imbued with an undeniable vulnerability that may be right up your street. (I think I described him on the forums as "the artist Ghostpoet wishes he could be", and since you have Ghostpoet here I thought you should check it out.)
Anyway, cool chart, really like the notes. If there's anything you think I'd really enjoy, don't hesitate to drop me recs. Peace.

You and I have very different tastes, that's a good thing though so I can steal a ton of recs from here, I imagine there's about 50 I haven't heard, plus I loved seeing ASIWYFA in the top 10, not sure if you've heard any of their first few albums but they're all very good, especially their incredible debut!

Thank you JMan, I think it just became available on vinyl this year or something. Whoops. Will remove at next edit (which is soon)
