During the early 2010s, R&B seemed to expand by further into other genres like rock and electronica. Things started to get very interesting once Frank Ocean and The Weeknd entered the fray, but Monae - who literally jumped to my attention with an absolutely incredible performance on Letterman - had already released a precusor of things to come.

"The Trip" was my "Moving back to Germany"-song and it remains one of my favourite drum'n'bass tracks of all-time. Turns out that Logistics is a Cambridge native, which makes me wonder whether I ever bumped into this fella during my excursions of the local drum'n'bass scene in the late 90s/early 00s.
