Top 7 Greatest Music Albums
by That1Colin Unknown

Thanks for checking out my list ranking my favourite Blink-182 albums! (I doubt anyone will xD)

This is my first list and is my first time trying to review music in this way, so please don't be too critical :)
I thought what's not a better way to give this a try with than to rank the studio albums of my favourite band? Be sure to let me know what you thought of my list and how I can improve reviewing music and what different points I should maybe add and what I could do differently. If you disagree with my list, message me and hopefully we can talk about it.

Thanks a lot :)

This album just has all the elements for me. Some songs are super upbeat and have some hardcore riffs. Some are upsetting and really relateable and some show amazing musical talent.

With no surprise this amazing album is a very close second to the self-titled album. Many cathcy songs such as "The Rock Show" and then even some elements of hardcore punk with songs like "Anthem Part Two" and "Happy Holidays, You bastard!" Such a variety of songs and how they're presented while Blink fully begin to cement their pop-punk sound with this album.

This may come as a shock to many Blink fans. But I love this album! It was insanely under-produced and in my opinion that gives the album a super raw feeling you rarely get with any record at all these days. They were fairly experimental with this album and it had much more serious lyrical content in comaparison to their earlier records. You all really need to stop hating on Neighbourhoods and realise how sound of a record it actually is!

Like most, this was the first Blink album I listened to. I was only 12 at the time and was hooked instantly. With all the jokey songs and the catchy guitar riffs, it was enough to keep me entertained for half an hour almost every single day for years. Nowadays, the album just seems old and rusty. It's not as mature as their future records and many tracks on the album have very similar sounds.

This album is one from their earlier days. Before their glory days, before they were globally known as the punk-rockers they are today. This album has such similar sounding songs I sometimes get the names of some of them mixed up. Arguably, this could be due to they very low recording budget for the album but they still had drummer Scott Raynor playing practically the same beat every song! Despite all this I still think this is a very good record and is amazing to listen to just to see how far Blink have gone. Some of the riffs are extremley cathcy and many of the lyrics are focused purely on the angst of adolesence...

Here it is.. their debut album; Cheshire Cat! Released when they were just a few practical jokers looking for a laugh, Cheshire Cat consists of newly-recorded songs that were initial in their 1994 demo "Budda" but also contains new songs too. The album is so low on the list purely because the lyrical content is fairly mediocre and a vast majorty of the riffs weren't the best of quality. But I still have to give them some slack, it was their debut album and they surely had a hell of a lot of fun recording it!

The final entry on my list is their most recent album: California. This album just seemed like they were trying to go back to the old days of Enema Of the State just to try and impress fans due to the lineup changes and not having relased any music in just over 4 years. Almost every song on the album had constant na-na's or woho's. This made the album seem very stale and dry as every track was basically identical. I also believe the album was extremley over-produced with the guitar, bass and drums being almost completley fizzled out to seem practically non-existent. Tbe deluxe edition of the album features 11 new songs and was released almost a year after the origial album has arguably better songs. Not every record is trying to pay homage to their old days and they're beginning to cement their own sound with their replacement for Tom Delonge, Matt Skiba.
