Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.1/100, a mean average of 69.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.8.

A fantastically matured effort from a band which you wouldn’t really associate maturity from in their early years. They find the right balance with great, energetic, American style pop punk tracks being balanced with slower interludes and breather tracks. Standouts include “Feeling This”, “I Miss You” and the track “All Of This” which has an appearance from Robert Smith that surprisingly sticks the landing.
Can we talk about how unexpectedly good this album is? I re listened to it as an adult and figured I wouldnt like it like I did as a kid. But no, it kicks ass still! Especially that song with Robert Smith. Its freaking sweet! I had no clue who Robert Smith was a kid, but years as a music fan obviously led me to the Cure. So now I have even more respect for it. Really fun record.

This album is everything the previous Blink-182 albums were not: experimental, risk-taking and mature. There are still glimpses of what Blink were before, but there is also a lot of new elements. The production in "Feeling This" is a great example of that.
I happen to like it better than any other Blink album because of that element of risk, but some people will like it less for the exact same reason. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you want safe pop-punk like in Enema or Take Off Your Pants, maybe this is not for you. If you want to hear a band experimenting and trying new things that challenge you (just a little), you might like this one like I do!
If I was a kid in the 1990's and you told me Blink-182 was going to make a mature, kind of emo double LP album, I wouldn't believe you. One of the most childish bands of the 90's hits you with an incredibly human and catchy album, and I love it. If I had to complain, maybe it didn't have to be so long, but I'm really okay with it.
Favorite Songs: Stockholm Syndrome, Obvious
A lot of people really love this album, and I love the idea of Blink going more adult, but I don't love it as much as everybody else. Still there are some really great songs on here.
A cornerstone of pop-punk. You can hear Tom, Mark, and Travis begin to embrace their own individual styles which end up clashing beautifully on this record. Tom's Cure-like shimmering guitar melodies and Mark's roaring wall of punk rock and Travis' hip hop influences somehow mix very well and culminate into what I think is the best Blink record.
Best Tracks: Asthenia, I Miss You, Always
My favorite Blink album, feels like their stuff before this was 3 guys just messing around (quality, and I respect it for what it is) and they actually tried putting a good album together and it was fantastic
