Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.2/100, a mean average of 68.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 20.6.

If you really want to ear how Blink-182 sounds at its best, go and get this record. Every single song on TOYPAJ is good and catchy. The album is a mixture of the pop-punk sound of Enema Of The State with the energy from the punk-rock sound of Dude Ranch. Perfect mixture. The other two albums were pretty good, but this is my personal Blink-182 favorite. It's been 8 years since I first listened to it, and I never got bored.

Pretty simple album as a whole, but they have catchy, hooky, pop punk down to a science. This factor works to the album's favor and there is a lot to love here. To some it may not deserve a high rating, but I have so much fun listening that I can't help but rate it as much as I enjoy it.

Best Tracks: Stay Together For the Kids, Anthem Pt.2, Reckless Abandon (Edited)

Stay Together For The Kids is fantastic. But still very average album.

This is about as good as pop-punk gets. Sure it is not the most mature record out there, but every song is solid and catchy. Definitely my favorite album by Blink, just has a certain something Enema of the State doesn't.

I think this is the only non-transitional Blink album. While still great, they hadn't changed much from Enema, whereas each of their other albums was a step in a different direction. I guess if it ain't broke...
