Excellent Psychedelic album. In my opinion, worth owning just for '5D' and 'Eight Miles High'. Has to be on any Psychedelic fans wish list if they don't already own it. [First added to this chart: 02/27/2021]

A true beauty of a psychedelic album, showcasing plenty of sitar and even classical elements like on 'Legend of a Girl Called Linda'. 'Season of the Witch' is a true psychedelic classic, often referred to as one of one of the most highly regarded psychedelic classics of the sixties. I particularly like the use of sitar and tabla on tracks like '3 King Fishers' which reminds me of the Beatles 'Norwegian Wood'. A Classic album from start to finish. Brian Wilson had an idea that he wanted to produce the greatest record of all time apparently, well in my humble opinion he did a pretty good job. Released in 1966 this album sounds years ahead of its time, it is a difficult album to pigeonhole containing nods towards pop, classical, jazz and avant garde to state but a few styles. There are musical instruments (and non instruments) used to create sound on this album which had never been used in the recording process before, the Theremin being one of them. An overlooked Love album, overshadowed by the two more psychedelic offerings. This album has plenty of psychedelic tinges, more of a garage rock style. For those who thought Hendrix wrote 'Hey Joe', here it is on Love's debut. [First added to this chart: 01/14/2024]
