This, Mob Rules and Sabbatath Bloody Sabbath are my favourite Sabbath albums. I would say that this one is my favourite of the three. This album, 'Rainbow Rising' and Dio 'Holy Diver' are a trio of pivotal metal albums. 'Neon Nights' and 'Children of the Sea' are standout tracks but the whole album is excellent. Brilliant live album. I have the original vinyl version which is still in near mint condition and sounds superb through quality audio kit. [First added to this chart: 03/20/2021]

A very intelligent album from a musicianship perspective, my personal favourite is different strings, also love spirit of radio and natural science. You can hear the Mini Moog used to great effect all over this album. [First added to this chart: 01/19/2021]

This is an excellent album. The drum intro on the first track immediately gets your attention. Some really great tracks, 'Born Under a Bad Sign', 'Crash and Burn' and 'Snorting Whiskey' are all superb. The only weak track is 'Love Will Make You Strong' where the vocal and lyrics are not at the same level as the rest of the album. [First added to this chart: 03/12/2021]

To come back with an album like this after the death of Bon Scott is quite remarkable really. When you consider the heights they climbed to with Bon Scott on vocals it was quite a risk selecting a replacement who sounded similar. Hats off to Brian Johnson for pulling it off. The opening track is a sizzler, the way the drums and guitars sync to the tolling bell is spot on. Great album for working out to, beats the junk they play through the speakers at the gym any day! I've had this on vinyl since it was released. A really fresh NWOBHM album with tracks like Vice Versa and Hammerhead. I got to see Samson live supporting Whitesnake at the Cornwall Coliseum back in the eighties, by this time Bruce Dickinson had moved to Iron Maiden and the new lead singer wasn't a patch on him. Thunderstick had also moved on, or removed his mask. The first three albums are the ones to get. [First added to this chart: 01/19/2021]

This album is excellent! I don't know why it has taken me so long to buy it really. The opening track is epic prog Yes with a slightly heavier edge. The vocals are not a million miles away from Jon Anderson and really work in retaining the classic Yes sound. Hats off to Chris Squire, Alan White and Geoff Downes who put in equally stunning performances. [First added to this chart: 04/11/2021]

Classic Heavy Metal. I remember my best mates brother (School days) having a patch of the album cover design on his denim jacket, sitting comfortably between Black Sabbath and Hawkwind patches. I so envied the fact that not only had he been to a Saxon concert to get the patch but also that he owned two Saxon albums, two more than me! As for the music, Wheels of Steel and 747 Strangers in the Night are classic metal! [First added to this chart: 10/16/2020]
