Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.1/100, a mean average of 87.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.3/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.2.

Una apertura de potencia inusual, una introducción a una colección de canciones tan inmensa como variada. Cuerpo a tierra…
So many ideas packed into this track which makes for a perfect opening to an album stuffed to the brim with ideas. From early rock n roll to surf rock to r&b, Paul pulls together so many influences to create a one of a kind sound in the Beatles’ catalog.
The use of the airplane taking off is telling of the White Album’s backstory too and it makes for an incredible transition to the serene Dear Prudence.
Sounds outdated for sure but the energy and McCartneys vocal performance is off the charts. Great opener!
This "funny little dittie", as Donovan called it, was written by Paul prior to the trip to India. One morning, Paul started playing it over breakfast and one of the other students of the Maharishi, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, heard it. Love then suggested that Paul should add a Beach Boy section to the song, describing the girls in Russia, just like the Beach Boys had done on their song "California Girls". Paul ended up using this section for the bridge of his song.
Brilliant opener to one of the greatest albums ever.
Great opening track. Great Lyrics.
One of my favorite Beatles album openers. Gotta love that chorus too.
Awesome opening track! Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys and The Beatles all rolled into one :)
A brilliant rock'n'roll pastiche. Chuck Berry meets the Beach boys in the Soviet union. Great fun lyrically and an infectious beat help to make this one of Paul McCartney's best contributions to the White album. A magnificent start to the record.
Great surf hard rock song to start an album, nice guitar and effects
