Although not exactly psychedelic to go with much of the album - this is a truly wonderful tune

Very good song
The best song on this album. Great melody and even some harmonies for a change. No need for drugs to enjoy this one!
Paul McCartney's brilliant ying to the yang of John Lennon's Strawberry fields forever. McCartney's wide eyed optimism dominates this wonderful track and with his and Lennon's different personalities truly shining through at this point, Penny lane, with Lennon's darker Strawberry fields forever, on the flip side of a double-A sided single, is the most perfect example of this on all of the Beatles releases. Stunning melody, brilliantly surreal lyrics and a fantastic production help to make this one of Paul McCartney's greatest ever songs.
