A brilhante e confusa viagem dos Beatles. Caótica, mas ainda sim fantástica.

Some nice songs on this album, some filler, and one of the Beatles' most overrated ever (Strawberry Fields). The origin of this album makes it feel a little disjointed, but then again that's no different from any other latter half Beatles album.

Released in 1967 as an EP in the U.K. but expanded into an album for the American market. So not part of The Beatles official original album series. Have to say I love it. Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane , I Am the Walrus and Fool on the Hill are some of the best pop songs ever released. Despite the odd flaw it’s an essential album for anyone who likes quality pop music from the 1960’s.

An odd album for the second half of the Beatles' career that overshadows the failed movie tie-in. Side B has all the hits with "Hello Goodbye", "Penny Lane", and "Strawberry Fields Forever". But Side A has some cool tracks too including the title track, "The Fool on the Hill", and the very weird "I Am the Walrus"

As I grow older I have come to appreciate the Beatles much more than I ever did in my younger years. Though if you asked me today what my favourite bands from the 60s are, I would still give the same answers (Procol Harum or The Velvet Underground), the Beatles would also get a mention.

This record in particular is one that has grown on me, the psychedelic tunes and clearly drug inspired lyrics are an awful lot of fun. The opener is also the title track, an entertaining little opener that, while not as nearly good as Srg. Pepper, is really great in itself (much like the album, come to think of it). “The Fool on the Hill” isn’t a personal favourite, but it is undeniably inspired. Next we have the low point, “Flying”. Not noteworthy.

We really get into the good stuff with “Blue Jay Way”, a great track that is especially far out. After this we have a personal favourite “Your Mother Should Know” followed by the albums best track “I Am The Walrus”, a classic in every sense of the word.

Side 2 opens with a bit of a dud, “Hello Goodbye” is again, not noteworthy.
The next two tracks, however, are certainly noteworthy, the stunning “Strawberry Fields Forever” and the fantastic “Penny Lane” are both nearly unmatched. Next we have side 2’s most underrated track “Baby You’re a Rich Man Now” followed by the famous (and very good) “All You Need is Love”.

Overall, while I feel this album is a slight step down from Sergent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, it is still well worth your time, it’s just missing one euphorically good track.

It isn't exactly a planned album by the Beatles, altough It functions well being a mix between a songtrack and singles. In 1967 the Beatles were at their peak of creativity, especially John and Paul (George's genius would appear more in 1969's Abbey Road). "Starwberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" marry together perfectly, one being a Lennon song, and the other a McCartney song, to me the best duo in history (both the compositors and songs). "I Am The Walrus" is funny at the same time It is morbid and "All You Need Is Love" is another powerful peace song by John Lennon. Their last attempt at a pshychedelic record is amazing, and is one of the best Beatles albums.

Up there with the rest of their albums, even if it isn't a proper album. Favourite psychedelic songs made by the Beatles on this album.
