Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 85.4/100, a mean average of 84.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.4.

All the songs in this album are perfect.
My favorite: Flying, Baby You're A Rich Man, Penny Lane.
If this was a real album it would be considered their best! But it's not so anyway- it's still their best. Both John and Paul have some of the greatest songs they would record: Fool on the Hill, I am the Walrus, Penny Lane, and Strawberry Fields Forever. The remaining tracks are all enjoyable colorful and loaded with 1967 pyschedelic sheen. Only one weak track - Blue Jay Way.
Very underrated album, amazing and fun. Some songs can be a bit of a drag, but the inclusion of Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane elevated it from a okay album to an amazing one. I am the Walrus, Fool on the Hill and All you need is Love all rank among the best songs from the Beatles.
It's questionable if this is a "real" album, but who cares to be honest, I am the Walrus and Strawberry Fields Forever are easily top 10 Beatles songs, and that's all that matters.
A very solid album, is brought up immensely by the singles on the B side. However, Strawberry fields and Penny lane should have been on Pepper.
MAGICAL MISTERY TOUR
only band/artist with 4 albums on my top 100
It's The Beatles SIXTH best album and it would easily be most bands best album they ever made. Every track, with the exception of "Flying", is perfection.
Best Song(s): "Fool on the Hill" "Blue Jay Way" "Your Mother Should Know" "I Am the Walrus" "Strawberry Fields Forever" "All You Need is Love"
'The Fool on the Hill', 'I Am the Walrus' and 'Strawberry Fields' are just a few examples of the genius songwriting coming from the Beatles in 1967. I find this release to be extremely underated in the Beatles catalogue. Sure, a few of the songs were pre-released as singles, but even outside of the Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane single, there are some fantastic tracks here!
Great album with great songs. Except for I am the Walrus.
I just dont like that one. Harrisons 2 songs were also weak.
But the rest is excellent.
After exposure to more music I’m a little less enamored than I previously was with this album but it’s a fun listen and I still really enjoy it.
