If you had to pinpoint the message of The Beatles in one phrase then this is probably it.

Very good song
Kind of a mediocre song to end the album. Nice message but doesn't come through with any conviction.
For some reason the brass response during the chorus is the only reason I like this song.
Yes it's naive and to be honest I haven't got a clue what the lyrics in the verses are on about, but what a beautiful thing to say in the chorus, what a lovely message for the world. All you need is love, is just wonderful, a sweet uplifting song that I find extremely emotional. Love isn't all you need of course, but it's certainly the most important thing to have. The ultimate summer of love anthem.
One of the few (maybe the only) famous song of beatles latter years that I dont like much.
