The album that isn't the Tom Waits one has a really interesting cover, I still need to listen to both of these. Usually my thing with Tom Waits is that I love his music but am no way ever interested in listening to it...Maybe I just admire his music more than I love it.

I technically haven't heard the Jukebox album all the way through, but what I have heard has been painfully underwhelming. It also has one of the worst album names I've ever heard.
Closing Time is dope as fuck, though.

I almost feel bad for not liking Tom Waits. I just don't. For some reason, his music is really grinding to me. It's the same as Bob Dylan. And I know it's an art and people do really like them for good reasons, but I just ... I really don't like it.
So I'm sorry, Cookie Monster's alter ego, but I'm gonna have to vote Jukebox the Ghost for this. _________________

Clearly I love Tom Waits. As a musician I think he is unparalleled and always is pushing to try new and interesting things. And he's really been going hard for over 40 years which is amazing.
This as a debut is awesome! A minor key masterpiece. This album feels like a late night in an empty city street. It is such a beautifully realized debut and showcases some of the greatest aspects of Tom Waits musical being.
Here is a stand out!

And here is the most famous song on here:

Best song: "'Ol 55" and "Martha" (a tear jerker for sure) and "I Hope I Dont Fall In Love With You" _________________ -Ryan

So, anyways, i've been trying to remember Jukebox the ghost for a long time. I was watching a silversun pickups song on youtube a while back and someone mentions that Jukebox the ghost has a song similar to the one I was listening to.
Anyways, loved them quite a bit tbh. Tom waits is great, but not as great as Juekbox the ghost

Have you heard this album? He's not very Cookie Monster-y on it.

I went ahead and listened to the album as that's the rules and he's a lot better on this one. It contains my favorite stuff I've heard of his. That said, it still just doesn't do it for me. Like I said, it's like Bob Dylan. Or even Radiohead for the most part. I feel like I'm missing something. Maybe as I mature, that "something" will be there and I can get more into this.
Let Live and Let Ghosts isn't some classic album that will go down in even half the fame that Closing Time did, but I personally prefer it. Maybe just me, and yet. _________________

I love a rock band that has two lead singers. You have the Beatles, the Hollies, Steely Dan, Barenaked Ladies, and now, apparently, Jukebox the Ghost. (I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody)
Tommy Siegel (track 3, 5,6,10-12)sounds to me like Ed Robertson of the aforementioned BNL. Ben Thornewill (track 1,2,4,7-9) reminds me of something I liked from the early '80s. Was it Devo? No, not Devo. Depeche Mode? The Buggles? The Vapors? Close, but none of those bands. The Cars? That's it! Ben Thornewill is the second coming of Ric Ocasek.
Closing Time, to me, was broccoli. Music that I listen to because it's good for me, not because I like it.
Vote to Jukebox
