This album does a great job at compromising relaxing sounding melodies to harsh electronic thumps to the ears. Songs have a familiar yet creative chord progressions and the lyrics are just a joy to listen to. I slightly prefer "The Soft Bulletin", but this is a top notch record.

Quite repetitive, but enjoy a lot of tracks, 'Do You Realize??' and 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part 1' being two. I see it as a concept album, but it's apparently not.

I cant even decide which flaming lips album is the best. I have favorites for my other top bands like Belle and sebastian, pixies, radiohead and dinosaur jr. but I cant seem to find one that I like most. amazing band..

Loved this album when I was younger and still love it today. Probably not as good as The Soft Bulletin, but it's a pretty close second. Yoshimi Battles The Giant Pink Robots Pt 1 and Do You Realise are easily the greatest songs these guys ever wrote. Fantastic stuff!!!!!!
