Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 83.1/100, a mean average of 82.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

Saw them Live 06/02/25 Brisbane Australia. Not going to lie, one of the greatest experiences of my life. I was in a state of Euphoria, I was in love again... I would happily see this live set 100 times over if I could. It would be awesome if it were available on DVD or Blu ray.

This is a unique sounding record and this helps it to stand out greatly amongst its competition. This electronic/space feel sounds brilliant the whole way through and it makes for a fantastic atmosphere for the listener. This makes it a very easy album to get completely lost in. It is also an easy record to revisit frequently as there isn't really anything else like it making this sound just as fresh and exciting no matter how many times you listen to it. However, there is quite a lot of filler on here that I would argue is skippable or could even be eligible to be cut completely from the release. This leads to the music feeling elongated especially on the last two songs. Overall, there is a lot of great stuff on here but it could do with some trimming down.

Lyrics toggle between profound and absurdly silly. Music oscillates between traditional and futuristic. The combined result is a thoroughly joyful experience.

Great album from a very unique original sounding band. Many blissfully serene tracks but with a psych rock edge. 'Do You Realize??' being the track that hits me emotionally more than any song I've ever heard.

One of my favorite albums of the decade. It's so trippy electronic mix with psychedelic pop and the melody feels right with it. No filler, all killer.

this album broke me in as a lip's fan. I don't care if fight test rips off cat stevens. I really can relate to the struggle of when to fight and when to walk away, and depending on the circumstances, it really is a measure of how strong of a person you are. I think it's a universal struggle and Coyne captures it so well in that song. He can be a great songwriter when he wants to be.
