Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 73.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory and London Boys are the ones you want.
This is an overlooked masterpiece. It's an awesome rock and roll record. It includes perhaps one of the most heartbreakingly honest songs ever written in "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory".
Really, I don't know what exactly it is about this record that makes me feel so close to it and attached to it. All the tracks are great. There are a lot of covers, but they are the kinds of covers that really add to and enrich the feeling the album and the artist. The attitude and offhandedness of "Great Big Kiss" is a great example of this.
Also, there is an interesting war of emotions here, there are clear sounds of sadness here at points, along with a definite apathetic vibe. It sounds like he was struggling to come to grips with his junky life. Even the front cover just conveys deep sadness. Him all alone in the corner of a room, just totally numb looking.
Finally, the Sex Pistols bashing on "London Boys" is or should be required listening for anyone who is getting into early punk. And "Daddy Rollin' Stone" should be required listening to anyone who wants a good grip on what cool sounds like.
"Feel so restless, I am...Beat my head against a pole.
Try to knock some sense down in my bones.
And even though they don't show, These scars aren't so old
And when they go, They let you know
You can't put your arms around a memory"
Gutter Rock!
This album also includes Peter Perrett & Mike Kellie from the Only Ones, Paul Cook & Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols, Paul Gray & Steve Nicol from Eddie & the hot rods, Phil Lynott and Steve Marriot. A good album.
