No other album has ever simultaneously made me think and made me wanna move as this one.
Found A Job.
Found a Job is the standout track, and I quite like Take me to the River.
Maybe they haven't yet found on this album, "talkinghead progress". But by far the best NAME of the SECOND album!
Great album, this where they really bring out their trademark groove.
Few good songs, nothing special.
The combination of genre influences, david byrne's vocals and brian eno's (more subtle) production marked a progression from their debut, broadening their musical palette, stretching out song structure a little more as on their hit "take me to the river", often with a bass line to be adored.
The more and more I listen to this, I'm coming to realize that this may be better than Remain in Light....
With this, Talking Heads second of their trilogy of masterpieces, the rhythm takes centre stage. Eno's meticulous production translates into a more aggressive sound allied with the use of subtle arrangements, emphatic vocals and a variety of musical styles with the emphasis on 'funk'. Talking Heads were the most innovative and inventive of bands of the new wave.
The first song is good, but then it heads back into rather uninteresting stuff. I guess this just ain't my cup of beer.
