"First the good: there are a lot of outstanding, timeless songs on this album. Now the bad: in typical Police fashion, there are a couple of tracks on here that are so awful I have to wonder what they were thinking."  Reply

"I think this album gets some unnecessary hate. I mean, yes it's not as unique or technically proficient as Whatever People Say I Am... but because of that it makes for a less harsh and a more relaxed listen. Just top notch songwriting and brilliant storytelling."  Reply

"I think it's a kind of silly to suggest that people/critics are 'overhyping' this album because they are wary of underrating it like they may of done with Pure Heroine. I believe it's more to do with Pure Heroine being a slowburner; I remember not being very keen the first 5 or even 6 listens but..."  [+]  Reply

"‘Layla’ is an extremely raw album with minimal production and a loose, laid back feel. It is also an emotionally raw album with Clapton’s soul laid bare. He was in turmoil during this period with personal problems involving Patti Boyd, then George Harrison’s wife, running like a thread through th..."  [+]  Reply

"Slightly underrated since it's not iconic as Hunky Dory or Ziggy and not innovative as Station to Station or Low, but still a great David Bowie album. It follows the glam rock sound of Ziggy but with a more "americanized" sound and themes. Instumentally possibly Bowie's best, with incredible guit..."  [+]  Reply

"Sophisticated and intelligent, with some pretty great production value to boot. If you don't count the dud skits, then this album has more song power per pound than almost every album out there period, let alone just hip-hop. Key Cuts: Drive Slow, Crack Music, Diamonds From Sierra Leone"  Reply

"I recently became aware of Nick Drake's music, and now I know all his albums pretty well. They all provide very fine songs and great music, though some of the posthumously released albums are somewhat uneven. Among his three original albums, I have come to the conclusion that his second, "Bryter ..."  [+]  Reply
