Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.5/100, a mean average of 79.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.1.

One of the most historically significant albums ever recorded. It's strange to think that at some point in time this whole coronavirus pandemic will be nothing more than history much like the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.

"this machine kills fascists". Read the small print if you can though, I think it's a disclaimer and says "as long I don't have to use real machines to kill real fascists".

Dust bowl blues is genuine and powerful at times but it limited by repetitive lyricism and themes.

A great album from the man who is perhaps the greatest America poet.

What a treat, Guthrie's rugged honesty is irresistable. Dylan fans in particular will appreciate this early folk album. Guthrie is every bit Dylan's equal when it comes to cheeky indignation, even if the latter has a leg up in overall songwriting ability.

Phrasing gets a bit old in a listen all the way through for me. Poetry is spot on, and there's some great standouts on here. Talkin' Dust Bowl Blues is my favorite.
