Weren't there so many reasons to love them? Let alone the name! Hippie coolness, the transformation of Folk songs in mind, and getting better the more they allowed themselves to experiment. "Whithout rhyme or reason" might mark the highpoint in that perspective. Sparkys strong voice made the music more difficult for today's tastes. But the energy in the music transcents the obvious sunshine pop terrain and left a only halfway completed vision of the future.
