A great combination from this almost forgotten sixties psychedelic band. It is virtually impossible to pick up original copies of their early work on vinyl so I was pleased to get hold of this. Rainbow Chaser, Pascale, Girl In The Park, We Can Make It Through The Night to name but a few. Beautiful vocals and musicianship. [First added to this chart: 01/11/2024]

Pleasantly surprised by this. It mixes up quite a modern synth approach with some fairly rockin guitar passages. There are nods to Enigma with the opening of the second track. Also love the female vocals on the first track and later on the album I, don't know who sang them as there are no sleeve notes with the vinyl. The female vocals remind me of Moonlight Shadow so possibly the same vocalist? I have both the original and TB ll on vinyl and will most likely reach for this album the most. To be honest, it is quite different from the original and TB ll so I don't know why Mike Oldfield didn't title the album completly differently and give the artwork a blast of creativity too. Could it be that hanging on to the Tubular Bells theme brings in more dosh? Well, I can't blame him for that but surely after ll there was no more need to produce numerous albums directly associated with the original album? My only gripe as this is actulaly superb in my opinion. [First added to this chart: 03/04/2022]

Ruined by the infernal growl/snarl which is absolutely not fecken necessary:

Best track- To Bid You Farewell- No growl/snarl.

This band could be so good if they lose that ruining growl/snarl.
