Channel Orange (studio album) by Frank Ocean

I find this album to be a little inconsistent but the highs are to the skies and any songs that don't connect with me are at worst still super interesting.

This is an inconsistent record for the majority of the run time with there being a quite a bit of filler that could be trimmed down. There is some obviously outstanding moments on here which drags up everything around it as these songs are just that good. These tracks include Thinkin Bout You, Lost, Pink Matter and the amazing Pyramids as well as a few others. All of these songs flow brilliantly and are just so incredibly infectious that you can't help but replay them countless times. However, you then get these mediocre songs that just don't go anywhere and feel empty. They don't have those irresistible qualities that the better songs have and I find them to be dull and make me lose interest in the music. Overall, if the consistency of the better songs was maintained this would be a phenomenal record but this isn't achieved which leads to quite a disappointing album.

While there are fantastic moments on the album like “Pyramids” and “Lost” which rank among some of the decades best songs I can’t help but feel like the album can be a little inconsistent.

Every song is worth many listens. Pyramids, Lost, Sweet Life, Super Rich Kids, Thinkin bout you and Pink Matter are my favs, but still then i could include 3-4 more songs.

The music involves serious jazz and r&b chops. The singing style is dynamic. The lyrics are (at times) sensual.

These elements will remind a listener of Prince and Stevie. They will also call into focus the fact that Ocean is nowhere near as good as either.

Déjenme explicarme. Este disco está muy bueno. Me ha sorprendido lo accesible que es. Melodías memorables. La voz de Frank Ocean es hermosa. Lo que le juega en contra son la multiplicidad de interludios que le han terminado disminuyendo considerablemente el puntaje final. Pero este disco tiene sus joyas. Las mejores me han parecido Thinkin Bout You y Pyramids. Seguidas de Lost, Super Rich Kids y Bad Religion. Me pareció más accesible que Blonde y me he llevado una buena experiencia.

Buena voz y buen disco para crear ambiente

A totally diverse in style for a psychedelic rnb record. Frank Ocean probably the artist of the decade for his great production and nice range of vocals. His retrowave of Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Brian Wilson and even Radiohead mix with neo-soul of D'Angelo made him an original artist.
