It's pretty great musically. Love James Murphy and arcade fire dearly. But I am not original in saying the lyrics are pretty bad. Like, the concepts are cool, the music is great, the vocals are the usual good to excellent. But the lyrics lay an ostrich egg a lot of the time. Whatever, I can get over that quick. I never saw much greatness in AF lyrics (on Funeral they were consistently badass, in Neon bible the lyrics are good but not always great, and on The Suburbs the lyrics struck me as bland and less motivated).
So anyway, this is a cool album. Like, I really like it a lot. Excellent at times. So there you go. _________________ -Ryan
