Do you have albums you prefer to spin in the wintry season? Not Christmas music, but the music you play sitting by an open fire because you can't go outside. Cyclone bomb weather. Winter vortex weather. The music you play when it's below thirty.
Yep. Australia. I live in the mountains west of Sydney. Not high enough for snow to settle on the ground.
For some reason, I must have a Canadian association with winter, even though I've never been there. First Joni's "Hejira". Then this Daniel Lanois album feels very cocoon-like, and I often listen to it during winter. Also, Hymns of the 49th Parallel does it for me.
Neil Hannon described this one as : 'something that sounds gorgeous on my stereo, with a roaring fire and a glass of sherry and a labrador at my feet.' ๐
Well, I tend to take things too literally. So in the winter I listen to Johnny Winter or the Edgar Winter Group. And in the summer I listen to Donna Summer.
