Ever since 1991, I've always been a fan of Heavy Metal. But it's only been recent years that I've really delved into the subgenre of Thrash Metal. Whether it be the Big 4 of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, or other underrated bands such as Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel among others. I've even gone so far as start a Facebook group call Thrash Metal Wasteland in a bid to connect with other likeminded individuals who share a common love for Thrash. If I were to name my Ten Favorite Thrash Metal Albums (one per artist), here's how it would look:

1. Metallica - Master of Puppets (1986) The album that defines Thrash Metal. And also the swansong of legendary bassist Cliff Burton

2. Megadeth - Rust in Peace (1990) Megadeth's finest hour. The first to feature Marty Friedman and Nick Menza.

3. Slayer - Reign in Blood (1986) One of the most brutal albums to have ever been created.

4. Exodus - Bonded by Blood (1985) One of the greatest debut albums in all of Thrash Metal.

5. Anthrax - Among the Living (1987) Anthrax at their best.

6. Testament - The Legacy (1987) Another legendary début Thrash classic

7. Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence (1987) Once again, another classic debut. It's hard to believe this band were barely teenagers at this point.

8. Overkill - The Years of Decay (1989) Overkill's best record. And it was a tough call, considering their output.

9. Sepultura - Beneath the Remains (1989) The first true classic from Sepultura

10. Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal (1991) An underrated Thrash classic that should get more credit than it deserves.[/b][/u]

That's a cool list! Looks nothing like mine, but that probably makes it even more interesting.

Cool list for sure. Could use some Flotsam & Jetsam and some Metal Church.

Hope you share more and keep this diary rolling.
