I nearly nominated "I Know the End" myself. Same situation that it was among the songs that defined the early/first year of the pandemic for me. And I believe it was my most listened to song on Spotify in 2020. Major Sufjan Stevens vibes for this song, it's like a perfect combination of everything that made Bridgers' earlier music work so well + big influence from what I love about mid-2000s Sufjan.
"Zari" is amazing as well, this was a really tough matchup. My favorite song from my 3rd favorite album of 2020 vs my favorite song from my 6th favorite album of 2021 (and I think 2021 was a stronger year overall for me, for albums at least).
“Zari “ is very spiritual, peaceful and overall I like it.
“I Know the Wnd” however gets my vote. While not my favorite Bridgers song or even my fave from that album, the way the album is so beautifully split with the first 40% abouts being your typical excellent, tender Bridgers dreamy folk stuff and the final 40% being this massive bombastic and very Illinois-era-Sufjan theatrical explosion, with the middle 20 being that awesome switch up/transition and build… it’s just incredible. A great way to end that album and song. _________________ -Ryan
Pretty easy vote for Zari. I'm not sure what it is but I often feel something is missing from Bridgers music and this song is no different. I liked both of her albums when they came out but never have any desire to go back to them. Maybe I just feel I have better options for her style of music that speak to me more. That whole Jaubi album is pretty cool and honestly I should go back and listen to it again. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels 2020's Hip-Hop 2020's Country
I know the End is superbly crafted, but is it strange to feel it isn't quite wild enough for what it is? Feels too much like controlled chaos. Still might get the vote even with the lovely Zari song
I was not fan of either albums, both seemed very middle of the road. Both songs here are actually my favorites from both, but Phoebe Bridgers' song was seriously a home-run for her discography. A wonderful song, getting my vote. _________________ My Top 100 :

I Know The End means a lot to a lot of people and I am glad such a song exists, but Zari is much. much closer to my taste and gets my vote. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
