Aeon Station is the closest we're ever getting to more Wrens music so I'm going with that. Lovely track regardless. GQOM was nice too
I don't know Wrens, but the first seconds of Aeon Station - Fade seemed familiar too.
Subsequently, he leaned towards Arcade Fire, and from the songs that are heard - Neighborhood # 1 (Tunnels).
And this is a worthy opponent!
GQOM didn't sound very original and Fade by Aeon Station was my choice I can best describe as sprawling and one of my favorite songs of the last years. If you like this track the also listen to the rest of the album.
GQOM is not the first derivative of a song that I really liked in the 80-90s.
But I can't find the original in any way because I don't know the name of the track or the artist.
This version sounds quite decent, perhaps even better than the original.
And this music video is done on a professional level.
But for the title of the best song of the year, this is certainly not enough.
What I'm missing in the first place is development (progressiveness) for the whole track.
The song consists of two beautiful, but very similar parts.
Inside each part there is everything you need, and the introduction, and development, and the culmination point.
But since each session is equal to two, the song quickly loses interest.
The ending sounds like the entry to the third rep, which, fortunately, is not there, and everything hangs in the air.

I was not very inspired by the music video. The video series is not one with the track.
There is a development in the track, but there is not enough level at the climax point.
Perhaps I did not have enough combination of music with the content of the lyrics.
I'm pretty tired of the songs that sounds like GQOM.
Also I liked the way Aeon Station went from guitar-driven Indie Rock to piano heavy Indie Pop (plus that music video was great). I'm going 4 Fade. _________________ My Top 100 :

Didn't like either to be honest, ended up voting for Fade, a rather forgettable throwback indie song. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
