An unusual but not unique album of disparate sounds that are both experimental and unorthodox and yet are set within an overall structure of traditional psychedelic/pop. The extreme position taken up by the indeterminate soundscapes contrast well in places with the more accessible songs but for me this is not always the case.
The album is punctuated with some excellent tracks but I think suffers from its length and obsession with the radical.
This is not the best album from the Elephant 6 as it falls well short of Aeroplane over the Sea and Circulatory System.

Unfortunately, this failed to truly grab my attention. It has its fair share of slightly beatlesque sorta catchy moments, but dwells too much in spaced-out instrumental jerk-off mode. I found it boring, messy and kinda forgettable!
Throughout the album I was reminded of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'.
Definitely the best Elephant 6 band

Almost entirely informed by the Beatles, the album still rises above anything else to come out of the Elephant 6 collective.
