Alynda Segarra AKA Hurry For The Riff Raff has released a really interesting album number 6 in "The Navigator" .
What isn't immediately apparent but is fact is this album is actually a quasi-concept album based on a fictional character named Navita Milagros Negron living in some sort of dystopian world (source The Music February 2018) . Lyrically its strongly political and was ahead of it time with its Anti-Trump sentiment prior to Trumps election win in 2017
I followed the lead of comments below and had several listens and can confirm this album is indeed a grower . Track 11 'Pa'lante' is a stand out best moment , I wouldn't go so far as to declare it one of the best songs ever as per a previous comment buts its a fine piece

First listen- this is decent, but maybe not a competitor.
Second listen- this is really good, Pa'lante is one of the year's best songs.
Third and fourth listens- The whole album's pretty good- top 50 of the year.
Fifth and sixth listens- This is one of the five best albums of the year, and the last two songs can compete with the last two songs on any album I've ever heard.

Takes a few tracks to get going, but when it does, The Navigator is a moving, enrapturing love letter. Gets better with multiple listens.
So far listened to the album only two times, so maybe the rating will change but I am sure only for the better. Think I will love this album
