|Avg. album rating
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.0/100, a mean average of 78.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.6.

I think this album is incredible at conveying the atmosphere of grief. Raw grief is not always the sort of thing to overwhelm us and make us cry. Sometimes it feels stultifying, almost like our emotions have no way out. A lot of this album conveys this atmosphere. Fantastic record.
my grandmother died of cancer a year and a half ago. we just sold her house. devastating.
The most raw representation of grief I've ever heard
Bem suave com um violão dedilhado bem bonito.
Dark, melancholic, katatonic, slow and dull. Not for me
If I hadn't been at work when I first listened to this, I would have been bawling my eyes out. Absolutely heart-wrenching.
This album feels so personal that I am surprised we have been allowed to hear it. The lyrics are amazing and take us through the ideas of death in a very detailed and heart breaking way. It is difficult to hear this record and not feel the pain and loss that is being conveyed to you. The music I think goes underrated as well because it may not be the most complex or the greatest instrumental performance of all time but it is raw and feels isolated which is how you feel when you lose someone you love. I think the guitar works perfectly and creates a dark and sombre atmosphere which suits the tone of the lyrics greatly. Overall the album is such a powerful record and you can't help but feel emotionally connected to the artist which is what music is all about.
