There are some awesome songs in here, but overall I would say their previous effort is superior. 6.7/10

Decent album, but not near the best work of Rise Against in my opinion
This album doesn't get the love it deserves. It's really, really good! It has some amazing instrumentation and even greater vocals. Paper Wings was the first song I ever heard that absolutely amazed me. This album was my favorite a few years ago. Even though most of my music tastes have changed, this still is great and I'll highly recommend.
awesome record, easily their most diverse and melodic album to date and some awesome screams from Tim!

Possibly my favorite effort from Rise Against. Somewhere between their early hardcore sound and later more accessible sound. Swing Life Away is a beautiful song.
Paper Wings is simply breathtaking! That was the song which got me into Rise Against in the first place.
I wish the rest of this album was as good as "State of the Union". It feels repetitive.
