Pleasant, but a bit too samey. My favourite tracks are Leave The War With Me and Oh Woman Oh Man.

Truth is a beautiful thing. As is Hannah Reid's voice. And that's the truth. It is a beautiful album but it is also 'music for your mum'. And that's fine. It's Coldplay lite for sure but so what. I liked Zero 7 when I was young and like this now. Music for old people who think they're hip but they're not but who care coz Hannah Reid.

The opening track salvo's are good in 'Rooting For You' , 'Big Picture' and 'Wild Eyed' . Unfortunately the tracks that follow get bogged down in mediocrity and blur into one after several listens . But if your able to last this long , closer and title track 'Truth Is A Beautiful Thing' is a beautiful & powerful closer well worth pushing through the muck to arrive at
Interestingly the expanded version with 7 additional tracks has some really good moments such as the non-album track 'Different Breeds' which should have been included on the album and a live version of a 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' cover

This is a truly beautiful album. The vocals are an instrument in their own right. The instrumentation is subtle but can equally build into walls of sound when appropriate. I will be purchasing the debut album at my next opportunity.
