Pin ups, is David Bowie's covers album. Similar to Bryan Ferry's, these foolish things, but where as that was pop as well as rock, pin ups, is set in the late sixties rock scene. Featuring versions of The Who, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, and, The pretty things, it's all enjoyable, with the cover of The McCoys', sorrow, the best of the bunch. The Easybeats, Friday on my mind, and The Mojo's, everything's alright, are also very good. It doesn't all work, The Who's, I can't explain, is ok, as is The Yardbirds, shapes of things. Still, a nice stop gap release, though hardly essential. Just a fun rock LP.
Really a filler album by Bowie it has the classic SORROW, not that it's bad. I hated Let's Spend The Night Together cover on Alladin Sane. Was reluctant to even listen to this but it's surprisingly pretty good. Cool album cover is famous with model Twiggy
It's interesting that at the time and phase he was in, he put out an album of covers. The originals of most are better but he doesn't do a bad job overall and this is a better album than most give credit for. (Edited)
Bunch of solid covers but nothing much worth revisiting. It's worth my once-a-year listen.

A great turntable classic of the 70's really love it for that reason
