Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.3/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

The rock music of the seventies of the last century is impossible to imagine without this wonderful team from England. The UFO group had a huge impact on the development of such musical trends as hard rock. In May 1974, the UFO group released the album “Phenomenon", noticeably different from their previous work. The album turned out to be tough and with bright guitar solos by Michael Schenker, who tried very hard while working on the record. But neither the CD itself nor its singles were a revelation to English listeners – it's hard to "climb" from obscurity up the "musical ladder". And I still can't understand how the band, with such great musicians capable of creating beautiful and memorable melodies, could not become one of such rock legends as, for example, Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin. What was the reason to remain a chic band for many years, always being behind the "monsters" of heavy rock?
Schenker just reformatted the UFO. Doctor Doctor-Rock Bottom-Built For Comfort---ROCK FOREVER!!!
Excellent shredding and riffing, solid work
This album rocked my socks off! I am late to the UFO party!
The guitar solo in Rock Bottom is one of the very best. Few can top this.
A great album with some really good hard rock tracks that really stand out (Doctor Doctor and Rock Bottom). The other songs have a lighter feel but perfectly fit in the album.
I stumbled upon this album and I'm so glad I did as it is fantastic. Fans of arena rock and guitar shredding in general owe it to themselves to find this album. You are already a fan of Michael Scheneker and you just don't know it yet. I have no idea why he and this band aren't more well known in the US.
A great debut and some of my favorite UFO tracks here but not sure if it's their best one.
Unforgettable Doctor Doctor :)
