Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.2/100, a mean average of 78.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.6.

After listening to the album several times, I didn't like it for a long time. What can I say - the material is tougher, more fun and the guitar is more fun than on Phenomenon, in general the album is more lively, more poignant and more even than No Heavy Petting. I didn't like the sound for a long time, but Schenker is a Schenker, and his skill attracts me. Maybe you'll like Lights Out over time. Again, the UFО ballads are cool, the "recognized masters of ballads" from Scorpions, with their snotiness, did not stand next to the British.

One of the first hard rock albums I bought so I have a soft spot for it. Kicking off full tilt with 'Let it Roll' & 'Shoot Shoot'. The slower numbers fit in well and the whole album has a great flow. Very under rated as anything Michael Schenker touched during this period is true gold.
