It's no understatement that Punk caused a schism musically, its scorched earth baptism of fire causing many to announce 1976 as Year Zero. But it's moment in the sun was short lived and by the end of 1977 it was over and Post-Punk was now the way forward. This box-set chronicles the UK side of things, furiously mixing future legends, footnotes and obscurities, documenting a sound that is still providing rich dividends to this day. Austerity is a key word here, but so is innovation and the spectre of Punks sworn enemy Prog Rock is never far away (hello This Heat) but it is brilliant and yes, fascinating.
