I was not aware this was released in 2004, it sounds exactly like their material from their golden period.
2004 was a spectacular year in terms of comebacks (this, Sonic Youth, Prince, Morrissey, etc.).

Reminded me of Zappa (multiple complexity), Reich (rhythmic phrasing), Kamasi (catchy melodies and arrangements' density) and Mike Olfield (posivite prog).
Great drummer and an insane bass player.
The vocal arrangements are greatly crafted.
