Catchy and fun modern indie. Filling the same niche that Tennis filled earlier this decade and about as well. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Just a bunch of catchy and beautiful indie rock songs with a one of a kind vocalist. The lyrics and stories are also very captivating and fascinating as well!
I always show Hop Along to people who say music nowadays is shit.

Upon my weekly round up of new album releases I came across this one & recalling 2015's 'Painted Shut ' was OK I gave 'Bark Your Head Off , Dog ' several listens and ..... its REALLY good !
The star of this show is undoubted lead singer Frances Quinlin who's jagged , raggedy vocals reminded me so much of Joanna Newsom in the most endearing way & not the cleaned up modern day Newsom vocal rather I'm referring to the early 'Milk-Eyed Mender ' circa Newsom . And the Newsom comparisons don't end there , this album has Newsom like string arrangements , Newson like folk tidings and at times Newsom like lyrical content . If your a JN fan your going to love this album
Track 4 "Not Abel" is a killer diller starting slow and building to a beautiful guitar crescendo . Its only April 2018 but right now this is easily my favourite track so far (if you don't listen to the whole album at least check this amazing track out )

We really are seeing a new breed of indie rock right now. This sounds exactly like the missing link between Fleet Foxes & Built To Spill, seasoned with something else entirely. One eye’s on the past and one’s on the future but they’ve got their fingers on the pulse. It’s complex but accessible, lucid but dreamy but all the while being so damn naturally addictive. Like it’s the simplest thing for your heart to do.
