Another fine album from Bosco, a gifted guitarist and distinctive singer. The highlights include the title track and the poetic anti-dictatorship anthem O Bêbado e a Equilibrista. I saw him in concert recently — he’s nearly 80 and still in remarkable shape — and when he performed this song, he hardly needed to sing at all, as the audience carried it with passion. Bosco is another outstanding Brazilian artist, probably less well-known abroad than he deserves to be.
