Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 18% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.0/100, a mean average of 73.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

She's at least not secretive about who inspired her... well... I'm gonna assume the title refers directly to the band she sounds like almost identically. Now of course it isn't an exact copy; the vocals and riffs are a bit too ugly (not a negative word) for the heavily polished rawness of britpop's shoegazing influence, making this a bit more post-punk. But nevertheless: nothing new here. But I'm never one to claim you can't enjoy a rerun, especially if it's a good one, and britpop/early alternative rock (beyond the depression of new wave, but before the masturbatory snobiety of late '90s alt rock) was a good and often overlooked episode in rock history.
Heartfelt, emotional, traditional indie rock music done very well. Impressive talent and love her voice.

What a Moody album! I feel nostalgic just listening to it. She's a 19 year old and it shows, but some of her lyrics combined with her vocal delivery just slice right to the bone:
"And I hope the love that you find
Swallows you wholly
Like you said it might"
This girl knows what she's doing and her potential is through the roof. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm really surprised this is rated so low on this site, many publications listed this among the top 10 albums of 2018.
If the whole album were as great as track 2-4 then I'd play this non-stop.

A solid debut album, it's just not something I haven't heard before. The album as a whole is very minimalistic and crisp. It has the tone of summer love and summer heartbreak like so many other albums before. Most of the songs sound similar in terms of instrumentation and lyricism which makes some parts a little boring. But, the lyrical content, itself, is promising and even strong at some points (I always like when artists relate feelings to colors). On the other hand, she also seems to be a bit too dramatic. I'm not much older than a teenager but the thought of her proclaiming that she's had her one shot at love and wasted it is silly. However, this is a strong project from a 19 year old, who is clearly very talented, and I'm excited to listen to her in the future.

I like listening to this while it's on and I think its pretty good overall, but there's not much here for me in terms of memorable lyrics/hooks/instrumentals. I just don't see myself returning to this over other indie records.

An indie rock album for the ages

An interesting album. At times it is a little generic but there are some good moments.
