Love Monster (studio album) by Amy Shark

It always rings alarm bells when I see an album on sale within a few weeks of its release & that's exactly what happened this week when I saw this album 1/2 price at a major music retailer

So , I thought I'd better check it out & check it out I did

Here's the thing , in isolation and on their own there are some OK tracks here such as "Adore" ( more on that later ) , "Psyco" which features Blink 182's Mark Hoppus on duet vocals , "Middle of the Night" with it's edgy lyrics ('Fuck my life, fuck my life , I want you back all the time , I think about you all night , fuck my life, fuck my life ') and album closer "You Think I Think I Sound Like God"

But as a complete album it doesn't work with at least 3 filler tracks in the terrible "I Said Hi" , the clearly aimed at Triple J track "All Loved Up" and the forgettable I'm a Liar" . Also why was "Adore" included on this 2018 album ? Don't get me wrong it's a cracking tune BUT it was originally released July 2016 some 2 years ago , TBH I think we are pretty much over it . And finally every track , and I mean EVERY track is about heart break , love and or relationships & it gets tiresome and completely irritating by track 14

In the 2018 battle of the Australian Female singer-song writer album release Jack River and 'Sugar Mountain' wins comfortably
